HPS: A win-win for shipowners
and the environment
While Jotun’s first obligation is to reduce its own environmental
footprint, Jotun GreenSteps also includes the development
of products and solutions to help end users improve their
environmental performance. For example, in the Marine
Coatings segment, Jotun offers Hull Performance Solutions

(HPS), which delivers a hydrodynamic efficiency gain of around
13.5 per cent. This not only helps lower bunkering costs; it
reduces greenhouse gas emissions by about 7.5 per cent below
the market average. Since its launch in 2013, Jotun has supplied
HPS to more that 900 vessels.
