Cash at banks earns interest at floating rates based on bank deposit rates and return on short-term money market funds. Short-term deposits are made for varying periods of between one day and three months, depending on the immediate cash requirements of the Group. The average interest rate for bank deposits is approximately 2.0 per cent for 2015 (2014: 2.9 per cent). At 31 December 2015 the Group had available NOK 900 million (2014: NOK 900 million) of undrawn credit facilities, of which NOK 800 million is long term. Cash at banks and on hand are attributable the Group’s cash pool arrangement and local bank accounts held by the respective subsidiaries.
